In the Wake of a Storm Comes the Holco 500!

The Weekend was a weekend for the record books. The most rain Saskatoon has ever had in 24 hours. Flooded basements, flooded streets and destroyed homes. Yet about 1800 people came to see the lightening and thunder on the grass. The best show yet...

RaceAmerica Lights

The SSRA were very anxious to put the new lighting system to the test, and it was very successful. Some mistakes have to be expected. Its all a part of the learning curve. Some glitches, like a run of 3.8 seconds by Don Klassens 800. I wish Don!

The best run of the day goes to GPL Racing with a 4.86 at 111 MPH. Leslie Gardener seemed excited to get back in

GPL Racing

the saddle and his consistant trigger kept him alive and moving forward. Dedication and perseverance pays. Atta Boy to Paul and GPL Racing.

The track held up amazing well. A lot better than previous years. The flood rain the day before kept it all in great shape and gave a competitive edge to the rubber tracks. Fast Eddie Shille piloted his Polaris to take 700 improved and ran hard in 700 prostock.

Blair Lesy just got his open mod 500 engine back together and had started it for the first time, that morning. 2nd pull!

High Voltage

He was still working out some bugs, but was able to steal a couple of placings for the day. His imp 1000 rocks hard and whipped up a win in that class. Blair and High Voltage Racing is a force to be reckoned with. I really hope to see him at the Grandaddy race. (HayDays)

My man Warren of Rebelsled Racing had worked on the 700 since The WCC. Ran an awesome test run, but broke down right on the line. His steering rivets were sheered off and no control. Warren should try to make to Russell and give it a flight.Tuff...

This was the first year for the Mudbogs at the Holco 500. It seems to works well to have these 2 events hand in hand. Colin and Holly do not dissapoint when the event is in their control. Congratulations to yet a more successful Holco 500 and may good fortune continue.
